ആ താഴ്വാരത്തിൽ
A melodious duet, carried by the vivid poetic lyrics of the legendary Rafeeq Ahammed.
This was my first collaboration with Rafeeq Ahammed, the seven time Kerala State Award winning lyricist. As Ariya Theeram grew and travelled through Kerala and beyond, it somehow found its way to his manager, who reached out to ask if I would like to make a song with him.
That gave me the chance to visit his house and spend time in the library where he has written so many of the songs I grew up listening to. Watching him instantly pen words to melodies I had made was surreal. The fun part: I had not even gone there for this song. We were working on another one, still unreleased, and after he finished those lyrics in no time, I played him this rough melody as something else we could try. Half an hour later the words were ready, and a sketch of a heartfelt love song had become Aa Thazhvarathil.
